If you have a small patio, balcony or backyard, don’t be afraid of creating an outdoor room.
The key is to use outdoor furniture and decor that matches the colors you have on the inside of your home. By doing this, you continue the inside space into the outdoors, often making the inside feel larger.
You don’t need to use lots of furniture, by the way. Sometimes the visual appeal of an outdoor room (from the outside looking out) enhances the look of your yard, whether you use the furniture or not.
Sometimes a plain bench, a couple of Adirondack chairs or stools can enhance the look and feel of your front porch, walkway or garden. Plus, there are several nice 2 and 3-piece conversation sets that cost under $150.
And don’t forget plants. Not only do they provide something beautiful to look at that changes with the seasons, but greenery can also soften the feel of hardscape of an outdoor living space and even provide a privacy screen if needed.
